Mahabubnagar: Mahabubnagar Additional Collector Tejas Nandlal Pawar instructed officials concerned to expedite Mission Bhagiratha repair works taken up at the Ram Reddy Gudem water treatment centre, which supplies drinking water to Mahabubnagar town.
The Additional Collector made a surprise inspection at the drinking water treatment centre on Saturday. He inspected the repairs works besides water release and supply mechanism.
As part of replacing the old filter bed with a new one, the engineering section was laying pipelines and setting up motor pumps. During the inspection, the engineering officials informed the Additional Collector that 90 per cent of the works had been completed and the remaining works would be completed at the earliest.
Over 80 per cent of the drinking water to Mahabubnagar town is supplied through three pumps from Ram Reddy Gudem drinking water treatment centre. The drinking water supply to Yenugonda, Appanapally and other neighbouring colonies is being done through Jedcharla water treatment centre.
Sufficient drinking water is being supplied to Mahabubnagar town, especially daily water is being supplied under Mission Bhagiratha, said Tejas Nandlal Pawar according to a press release.
