Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A man was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife at Lodpalli village in Penchikalpet mandal on Tuesday.
Briefing details of the arrests to the media persons in Penchikalpet mandal centre, Kagaznagar Rural Inspector K Srinivas Rao said that Gurle Ganapathi from Lodpallli was apprehended for killing his wife Lalitha (35) by smothering to death under the influence of liquor.
Ganapathi was detained while moving suspiciously at a bus stand in Penchikalpet.
On being interrogated, Ganapathi confessed to committing the crime by suspecting the fidelity of Lalitha and for moving closely with multiple men of the village. He told police officials that he banged on her chest before smothering with a towel at a farm by sitting on her body. He disclosed that he thrashed her by picking up an argument with her on March 2 night too.
Penchikalpet Sub-Inspector Komaraiah and staffers were present.
On Monday, Lalitha, the mother of a son and daughter was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a farm at Lodpalli village in Penchikalpet mandal. Her mother Thanu Bai, lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that Ganapathi murdered her daughter.
