Adilabad: A daily wage earner was washed away in a flooded stream at Nipani village in Bheempur mandal on Thursday. The body was traced in a thorny bush downstream. Bheempur Sub-Inspector Ravinder said that the deceased was Venkat Goud (45), a resident of Nipani village. Venkat met with a watery grave when he ventured into the stream that was in spate due to downpour in upstream areas, to reach his house on the other side. He was washed away in the swirling waters of the stream. His wife Jyothi grew suspicious when he did not return home till evening. She called up a farmer who engaged her husband in agriculture activity.

His family members and locals launched a search for Venkat’s body and found it in the bushes. Based on a complaint lodged by Jyothi, a case was registered. Sources said that Bheempur mandal received light rainfall, resulting in local streams and rivulets overflowing.
