Mapmygenome launches new Covid testing facility in Hyderabad
The new drive-thru testing facility opened at Cyient Foundation MP Primary & ZP High School in Gachibowli
Hyderabad: Hyderabad headquartered genomics company Mapmygenome launched a drive-thru Covid-19 testing facility at Cyient Foundation MP Primary & ZP High School in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
People who want to get a Covid test can enter the school premises and follow the markings for parking spots. There are standees with barcode to the registration form, which can be filled online. Apart from names, contact details, and age, this form also requires an individual’s ID proof.
Sample collection executives approach the car and collect oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swab samples. There is also a closed booth in the premises to collect samples, which can help people on bikes or people who decide to walk in. Payment can be made online or to the executive. At every step, all Covid protocols and precautions are being followed, and reports are sent online, Mapmygenome said.
The company has two Covid testing labs – one at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Hyderabad and one at their corporate headquarters in Madhapur. Both the labs operate 24/7. They also have a branch office and Covid sample collection facility at Kukatpally.
People can visit the lab in Madhapur, the collection facility at Kukatpally, or the new drive thru facility at Gachibowli for Covid testing.
Mapmygenome CEO Anu Acharya said, “We have always been extra cautious about safety and social distancing during Covid sample collection and processing. We already use CoviSafe VTMs that neutralise the virus while protecting the molecular structure.”
“This drive thru facility is an added safety measure that will enable our customers to give their samples for testing without worrying about being exposed to the virus while standing in the queue,” she added.
