Minor boy washed away at Gundala waterfalls in Gadwal
A minor boy drowned after being swept away in the Gundala waterfalls at Rekulapally village in Jogulamba Gadwal district. In a separate accident, 15 daily wage workers were injured when their autorickshaw was hit by a car in Pebbair, Wanaparthy.
Jogulamba Gadwal: A minor boy was washed away after venturing into the Gundala waterfalls of the River Krishna at Rekulapally village on Thursday. The deceased was identified as a resident of BD Colony in the town.
The boy, along with his friends, had gone fishing downstream of the waterfalls at Rekulapally village, however, he lost control and was swept away. Local residents attempted to rescue him but their efforts were unsuccessful.
Residents alerted the local police and the Fire Services Department, which deployed expert swimmers to take up the rescue operation, according to reports. Based on a complaint lodged by the boy’s father, the police registered a case and an investigation is under way.
Car hits auto in Pebbair
In a separate incident, a few daily wage workers were injured when the autorickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a car.
The incident occurred when the auto, which was heading to Borivelli in the district from Thomalapally village in Pebbair mandal of Wanaparthy, was hit by the car. About 15 passengers were travelling in the autorickshaw when the accident took place.
All the injured were shifted to the Government Hospital, Wanaparthy, and the condition of two persons is said to be critical, reports said.
