Nizamabad: Forest, revenue lands survey to begin from Wednesday

Nizamabad: District Collector C Narayana Reddy said a survey of forest and revenue lands with joint boundaries will commence from Wednesday to demarcate the Forest and Revenue lands in the district. The survey will be conducted jointly by the Forest and Revenue departments in a period of 15 days, said the Collector.

On Tuesday, the Collector conducted a meeting with Forest and Revenue officials at Nizamabad Collecorate, which was attended by Additional Collector Chandrashekhar and District Forest Officer (DFO) Sunila Heeramat and other concerned department officials.

The Collector directed the officials to conduct the survey for which 25 teams have been allotted, and identify the boundaries forest and revenue lands with joint boundaries in the district.

He said there are 10,203 acres of land spread over 9 mandals having joint boundaries which need to be demarcated as revenue and forest lands. The officials were instructed to document the survey details while cross-checking with the records of both departments by referring to R.I. 2016-2017 Pahani as the standard record of the said lands.

The survey teams which will be pressed into action from Wednesday, were directed to inform their higher-ups in case of any hurdles or problems regarding lands during the survey which will also check the entries of survey numbers and POB numbers on Dharani portal. The Collector also stated that proposals were sent to the government regarding the issuance of patta passbooks for forest lands to whomever is cultivating podu lands in forest area.
