Over 4,000 women trained at Nava Empowerment Centre in Paloncha
More than 4,000 women have completed livelihood training at the Nava Women’s Empowerment Centre in Paloncha, run by Nava Limited as part of its CSR initiatives. Around 75 percent of trainees are engaged in tailoring and beautician work, while others have started businesses.

Kothagudem: Over 4,000 women have completed training in various livelihood courses so far at Nava Women’s Empowerment Centre run by Paloncha based Nava Limited, informed the company general manager (CSR) MGM Prasad.
About 75 percent of the women trained at the centre are engaged in tailoring and beautician work while some have also started their own businesses; he said speaking at the 72nd All India Cooperative Festival celebrated at the Women Empowerment Centre at Paloncha in the district on Saturday as part of corporate social responsibility activities of Nava Limited.
A lecturer at Kakatiya Cooperative Training Centre (KCTC), Warangal P Rajaiah, SBI SIIL branch manager Bhav Singh, Cooperative Society auditor Varun, Nava Limited general manager (CSR) MGM Prasad and DGM (Finance) N Satyanarayana participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Nava Mahila Thrift MACS Limited president T Aruna said that the cooperative society was formed in January 2018 and has collected orders for more than one crore palm leaf baskets so far and various types of clothes.
Sewing machines for 200 members were provided at a 50 percent subsidy. Further, palm leaf baskets were exported to America, Australia, Singapore and Sri Lanka, she said. Cheques worth Rs. 77, 759 were distributed to the society members. Certificates were presented to candidates who completed beautification, tailoring and computer embroidery courses.
Speaking on the occasion, the guests praised the efforts being made by Nava Limited and Nava Mahila Thrift Mutual Cooperative Society for the economic growth of women. Programmes should be undertaken by identifying market needs, they suggested. Trainer Ammuda and others were present.
