Hyderabad: Criticising Home Minister Amit Shah for visiting the city of Hyderabad during elections, while he avoided doing so at the time of floods, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the statements of the entire BJP leadership were aimed at belittling the people of the great city.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, he said the Union Minister had not visited the city when several people lost their lives in the floods but landed here to seek votes for BJP. “Why is the Prime Minister enacting a drama in the name of Covid vaccine? Does he think that the vaccine will not be made without his presence here?” he asked, adding that a leader of Modi’s stature should not have stooped to this level.
Coming down heavily on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who demanded changing the name of Hyderabad, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that as a Chief Minister, he had failed to stop atrocities on Dalit women in his State. “Another MP comes from Karnataka and talks nonsense. Bandi Sanjay is from Karimnagar who never grew beyond the municipal level in knowledge. Who is he to talk about Hyderabad?” Uttam asked.
Criticising BJP for threatening with surgical strikes on old city, Uttam said the same Union government had not sent Central forces to rescue flood affected people is now planning to send troops to attack the old city. “On the other hand, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, at his public meeting on Saturday, did not mention a single development plan meant for the city,” he said.
