Rajanna-Sircilla gears up for three-day Maha Shivaratri celebrations
Officials in Rajanna-Sircilla district have been directed to make elaborate arrangements for the Maha Shivaratri jatara at Vemulawada from February 14 to 16. At a coordination meeting chaired by local leaders and officials, instructions were issued to ensure smooth darshan for devotees, complete road repairs, and operate additional bus services.

Rajanna-Sircilla: Officials were instructed to make elaborate arrangements for the Maha Shivaratri jatara scheduled to be held at Vemulawada on February 14, 15 and 16, with a focus on ensuring convenience for devotees.
A coordination meeting to review jatara arrangements was held at Bheemeshwara Sadan in Vemulawada on Tuesday, involving officials from various departments.
Government Whip and local MLA Adi Srinivas, in-charge Collector and jatara chairman Garima Agarwal, Superintendent of Police Mahesh B Gite and others attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, they instructed officials to ensure all arrangements were put in place at the Bheemeshwara Temple to facilitate quick darshan for devotees during the jatara.
R&B department officials were directed to complete road repair works on all routes leading to the temple town with a well planned approach. TGSRTC authorities were asked to operate adequate bus services based on the expected influx of devotees.
Officials were also instructed to set up help desks, drinking water facilities and toilets at Thippapur bus stand. Municipal and panchayat officials were asked to prepare a coordinated plan to ensure effective sanitation arrangements throughout the jatara period.
In addition to help desks, signboards displaying contact numbers of officials were to be installed at prominent locations. Drinking water and buttermilk were to be supplied to devotees standing in queue lines as well as at parking areas. Medical teams were directed to be deployed to provide round-the-clock medical services to pilgrims.
The officials were asked to ensure that plastic was not used within the jatara premises and to arrange wheelchairs for the convenience of persons with disabilities.
The Superintendent of Police assured that all measures would be taken to prevent traffic congestion and that special arrangements would be made for VIP darshans. He also directed officials to install signboards and CCTV cameras and to deploy volunteers for traffic regulation.
