Revanth Reddy misleading people on financial condition of Telangana, says KTR
Commenting on Revanth Reddy’s statement that the financial condition of the State was in a miserable condition and that Telangana was in a debt trap, Rama Rao said no Chief Minister should make such a statement
Rajanna-Sircilla: BRS working president KT Rama Rao came down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, stating that he was trying to mislead the people of the State with blatant lies on the economic condition of the State.
Commenting on Revanth Reddy’s statement that the financial condition of the State was in a miserable condition and that the State was in a debt trap, Rama Rao said being the head of the State, Revanth Reddy should not have made such a statement.
Reacting sharply to Congress leaders’ comments that the previous BRS government had pushed the State into debts, Rama Rao termed such statements false and said there was no truth in those allegations.
When the separate State was formed, Rs 369 crore was the surplus revenue of Telangana in 2014. When the Congress came to power, this had shot up to Rs 5,944 crore. The BRS government had enhanced the revenue of the State by striving hard for 10 years.
Surprisingly, the Congress government had pegged Rs 1000 crore as surplus revenue in the recent Budget. Contrary to Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s announcement, the Chief Minister was claiming that the financial condition of the State was bad.
This was nothing but misleading the public with lies. Unable to run the government, the CM was making such comments, Rama Rao said while addressing BRS workers in Sircilla on Saturday.
Talking about Rythu Bharosa, he said the State government was planning to take affidavits from farmers on cultivation of crops. Where was the need to take affidavits when all the crop details were available with agriculture officials, he asked, pointing out that the government was also planning to deny the benefit to government employees and income tax payers.
BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had provided Rythu Bandhu amount to farmers without seeking a single application. Rs.80,000 crore was deposited in the bank accounts of farmers in 12 phases in the BRS regime.
Before the elections, Revanth Reddy had promised Rs 7,500 per acre of land under Rythu Bharosa but had not kept the promise, and was now blaming farmers alleging that Rs 22,000 crore was diverted in the name of Rythu Bandhu.
To avoid giving Rythu Bharosa to one lakh crore acres, the State government was not taking up the repair works of the Medigadda barrage even after one year in office, he said.
Pointing out that two Chief Ministers — N Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar — were playing vital roles at the Centre with 10 to 12 MP seats, Rama Rao expressed confidence that the day would soon come when Chandrashekhar Rao would play a vital role at the Centre.
