Hyderabad: BRS senior leader G Devi Prasad said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s comments on district reorganization had triggered confusion and fears among people.
“If the number of districts will not be changed, why is the Congress government planning to constitute a Commission to take up the reorganization exercise,” he asked.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, the senior BRS leader said if the districts were to be changed, then changes would be inevitable in the zonal system as well.
“These changes must be made with the Presidential Order and this will take at least two years. District-wise division of employees has already been done and by raking up reorganization plans, Revanth Reddy is about to stir up a hornet’s nest,” warned Devi Prasad.
He also said the government was conspiring to evade 42 percent reservations to BCs in MPTC and ZPTC elections. Considering the government’s plans, there was no possibility of conducting MPTC and ZPTC elections in the near future, he stressed.
The BRS government had created small districts for decentralizing governance and effective administration. In the erstwhile districts, people had to travel long distances to reach the Collector’s Office, he said.
“Revanth Reddy is conspiring to erase BRS Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao’s legacy,” he added.
