Sanagreddy: Two Sub inspectors, two constables suspended for colluding with drug peddlars
Ambaria, Maruthi Nayak, and Madhu were stationed at Manoor police station when the incidents occurred, while Vinay Kumar served as the Sangareddy rural SI. The accused officers allegedly had colluded with Mallugonda, a seasoned ganja peddler from Karnataka, who was arrested by Sangareddy police on September 10. Notably, Mallugonda had managed to evade capture several times over the past couple of years.
Sangareddy: A sensational understanding between the police and ganja smugglers came to the fore in the Sanagreddy district. As the four police personnel, including two SI rank officials, were caught supporting the ganja smugglers, multi-zone-2 IG V Satyanarayana suspended Patancheru SI Ambaria, SI Vinay Kumar, who was waiting for the posting, head constable Maruthi Nayak and Constable Madhu.
Ambaria, Maruthi Nayak, and Madhu worked at Manoor police station when these incidents happened while Vinay Kumar worked as Sangareddy rural SI. The accused officers reportedly had an understanding with Karnataka-based seasoned ganja peddler Mallugonda, who was nabbed by Sangareddy police on September 10. However, he had successfully escaped a few times during the past couple of years from the police.
During the interrogation after his arrest by the Sangareddy police and Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TGNAB), these four police personnel formed a team and supported Mallugonda and his accomplices. Ambaria, Maruthi Nayak, and Madhu reportedly took Mallugonda into custody in May this year at Sanathpur in Manoor mandal while he was smuggling 120 KGs of ganja. However, the police team allowed them to go free.
While the same ganja smugglers team was smuggling some 400 kg of ganja, the police reportedly helped them to reach Narayankhed from Varni in the Nizamabad district. In a statement, IG Satyanarayana said they were studying the possibility of registering a case under the provisions of the NDPS Act. The IG said that the act of these policemen defamed the entire effort of the police and TGNAB who had been vigorously working to check the smuggling of ganja. Further investigation is still on. (EOM)
