Hyderabad: A science march organized by the India March for Science – Hyderabad organizing committee at Osmania University was inaugurated by retired professor A Ramachandraiah from NIT Warangal.

The march proceeded from the NCC gate through the engineering college and concluded with a meeting at Hindi Mahavidyalaya Degree College in Vidyanagar, presided over by R Gangadhar, co-convener of the organizing committee.


Retired scientist from NIN Mehtab, S Bhamji, expressed concern over the spread of unscientific ideas in society and emphasized the need for scientific thinking and policies to address environmental pollution.

Ramachandraiah noted that superstitions and blind beliefs are on the rise and warned of the harm they cause to society.

The event was also attended by Breakthrough Science Society Telangana vice-president Devarshi Gangaji and secretary L Sarath, along with Jana Vignana Vedika Telangana state committee members B N Reddy, Koya Venkateswara Rao, and general secretary Raja.

Other participants included Bala Kumar, principal of Hindi Mahavidyalaya Degree College, Prameela from Andhra Mahila Sabha College, and Rekha Venkateswarlu from Khairatabad Degree College.
