Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) announced a One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme to clear long-pending property tax arrears up to March 31, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the Cantonments Act, 2006.
In an official release on Wednesday, SCB Chief Executive Officer Arvind Kumar Dwivedi said the proposed scheme is aimed at encouraging voluntary payment of outstanding dues by offering a rebate on the accumulated interest portion of property tax arrears.
Under the proposed concessions, property owners will get a 30 per cent rebate on the accumulated interest amount or Rs 10,000, whichever is higher. In cases where the accumulated interest was less than Rs 10,000, a full rebate of the interest amount will be granted, said the SCB CEO.
Further, the SCB official said the rebate applied only to accumulated interest and not to the principal property tax arrears. The benefit is available only if the entire property tax dues, including arrears, are paid in full.
The SCB CEO said the OTS scheme is valid up to March 31, 2026 and urged all property owners with pending dues to avail the opportunity and clear their arrears within the stipulated time to avoid further accumulation of interest and recovery proceedings.
