Secunderabad hosts vibrant Nagar Keertan to mark martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur

Hyderabad: A colourful holy procession ‘Nagar Keertan’ featuring a display of martial arts ‘Gatka’, rendering of Shabad Keertans, was organised on Tuesday as part of commemoration of the 350th Martyrdom of Ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur at Gurudwara Saheb Sitaphalmandi, Secunderabad.
The procession saw carrying of Guru Granth Sahibji and Nishan Sahebans, the ensign and the sacred flag of the Sikh faith, from all the Sikh Gurudwaras from Telangana by Nishanchis (flag-bearers).
The holy procession, which was organised under the aegis of Prabandhak Committee of Gurudwara Saheb Sitaphalmandi, in cooperation with all the Sikh Gurudwaras of Telangana, was taken out from Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and proceeded through the main corridors of Clock Tower, Secunderabad, Sangeet X Roads, Keys High School, Oliphant Bridge, Chilkalguda, Mylargadda, Sitaphalmandi cross roads and returned back to Gurudwara Saheb Sitaphalmandi in the evening.
Prabandhak Committee of Gurudwara Saheb Sitaphalmandi Chairman Harpal Singh and other senior office-bearers said the procession also featured Shabad Keertans (holy hymns) by Jatha Tera Jatha, Simran Jatha, Nirvair Akali Jatha, Gurmukh Jatha, Istri Satsang among other jathas.
A Vishal Kirtan Darbar (mass congregation) will be organised from 10.30 am to 5 pm on November 30, 2025 (Sunday) at NTR Stadium, Indira Park where hundreds of devotees will converge.
