Selfiecraze claims life of youngster in Adilabad

Based on a complaint lodged from one of the family members of the victim, a case of suspicious death was registered.

Adilabad: A youngster accidentally drowned in a waterfall when he was taking a selfie by standing on an edge of a rock near the nature wonder near Khandala village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Saturday. The incident came to light on Sunday.

Adilabad Rural Sub-Inspector said that the deceased was identified as Akash, 22 year old resident of Subhashagar in Adilabad town.

Akash met a watery grave when he fell in a deep spot of the waterfall as he stood on a slippery rock to take his selfie. His friends who were also spending time at the nature wonder, tried to rescue him, but in vain. His body was fished out with the help of expert divers who were pressed by policemen. They all were picnicking at the time of the mishap.

Based on a complaint lodged from one of the family members of the victim, a case of suspicious death was registered. Investigations were taken up.
