Hyderabad: Alleging that several private engineering colleges have submitted manipulated data, particularly concerning infrastructure and faculty, in their fact-finding committee (FFC) reports, Students Protection Forum (SPF) has demanded re-inspections of colleges by affiliating universities.
In a representation sent to the Chief Minister’s Office on Friday, the forum wanted the TAFRC and TGCHE to thoroughly verify FFC reports of the last three academic years. Colleges found violating norms must be disqualified from admissions counselling.
J Dileep Kumar and B Rahul of the SPF said though several engineering colleges registered under society or trust names, they operate as profit-making business entities.
“There is a need for thorough financial audits by state-appointed agencies to inspect expenditure patterns, fee collection data, and bank transactions. Authorities must also verify the ITRs of faculty members who are shown on rolls but are not fairly compensated,” they added.
