Pallavi Model School, Bowenpaly organised a special assembly to mark ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’ to imbibe in students the qualities of empathy and social responsibility. The assembly began with a prayer followed by the pledge. Students learnt about the day’s history, the importance of enabling women to be self-reliant and capable of protecting themselves from violence.
Students of class IX spoke on the issue presented speeches and videos to bring awareness and to awaken the people to eliminate violence against women. The assembly concluded with encouraging and motivating words from the school principal. She also mentioned the #MeToo campaign that worked wonders and was an eye-opener for many women. Students pledged to create awareness on the issue. It’s time to erase hesitation, fear and inhibitions. Violence against women is an everyday reality, act now, always and forever before it’s too late.
