Sunstroke claim six lives in erstwhile Adilabad in past 24 hours
Six people died of suspected sunstroke in the erstwhile Adilabad district amid severe heatwave conditions, with temperatures crossing 46°C in several mandals. The deaths occurred across farm fields, worksites and towns, highlighting rising health risks during extreme summer conditions.
Adilabad: In different incidents, six persons died of sunstroke in the erstwhile Adilabad district in the last 24 hours, triggering panic among the public.
In the latest instance, Naresh (29), a record assistant at Dandepalli Tahsildar’s office fell ill due to sunstroke on Saturday. He was admitted to a hospital in Mancherial. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment on Sunday.
Earlier, Enubothula Babanna (52) and Satwe Shankar (50) from Bhainsa town died of sunstroke on Saturday. Babanna, a daily-wage earner, fell unconscious while being engaged in a farm activity. He was shifted to a hospital. Doctors declared he was brought dead. Shankar was also a daily-wage laborer. He lost consciousness at a worksite. He died before being rushed to a hospital.
In similar incidents, Bilal Fariq (40), a mentally challanged man from Maharashtra died of sunstroke from Indravelli mandal centre on Saturday. A 70-year-old unidentified woman died of dehydration at Rambar in Adilabad town. Identity of the woman was yet to be established. Ramagiri Pullamma (78) died of sunstroke at Reddy Colony in Mancherial town.
Incidentally, Sirpur (T) mandal centre saw the highest maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius, following by Kasipet mandal mandal which recorded the maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees C on Saturday. Khanapur mandal had the maximum temperature of 46.3 degrees C. Indravelli mandal recorded the maximum temperature of 45.6 degrees C.
