The budget outlines that Rs.69,572.48 crore will be raised through various forms of debt. This amount equals to half of the State's own tax revenue estimated at Rs.1,38,181.26 crore and highlights the growing dependency on borrowing.
The State Assembly budget session will begin from July 23 and the legislative Council session will start from July 24. The annual budget is expected to be presented on July 25.

The state's public debt will mount to Rs 3,87,125 crore in 2021-22 from Rs 3,55,874 crore the previous year as the government targeted to borrow Rs 50,525 crore afresh.
