A woman excise constable was grievously injured after being hit by a speeding car carrying ganja during an interception attempt near Nirmal. Police later chased, arrested two smugglers, seized the contraband, and launched a wider probe.
Telangana’s EAGLE Force and Kukatpally police arrested two Pune residents on Wednesday, seizing 21 kilograms of ganja. The suspects procured the drug from Odisha and were caught at a Kukatpally bus stop. A case is registered, and investigation continues.
The drug peddlers were allegedly sourcing drugs regularly from Nigerian suppliers in Mumbai. The accused, identified as Mohammad Salim Abdul (30) and Mukesh Dubey, both residents of Mumbai, were apprehended, while another peddler, Rayees Riyaz Shaikh, remains at large. The duo was reportedly en route to Hyderabad to sell the drugs to Shaik Amer, a resident of Balanagar in Hyderabad.
At a meeting held to review the measures initiated for drug trafficking, the DGP emphasized that despite on-going efforts to control the sale of drugs, stringent measures must be taken to curb the supply of narcotics across Telangana.

Superintendent of Police, TSNAB, Gummi Chakravarthy, said Javeed was purchasing the drugs from Iqbal and Mustaq and supplying to local customers in the city.
