Speaking on the occasion, she said that 300 people had been selected under the first phase of 'BC Bandhu' scheme in the district. Others will receive the cheques soon, she said.

Harish Rao said that loans of farmers with more than Rs.1 lakh would also be waived off within a fortnight. The government had so far waived off loans upto Rs 41,000.

The Finance Minister made it clear that the Telangana government had taken up both projects without any support from the Centre.
