The incident took place when the bus was on its way to Tenali in Andhra Pradesh from Hyderabad. About 30 persons were traveling in the bus at the time of the accident.
When the car was approaching the Devgad Phata, it was hit by a private tourist bus coming from the opposite direction. All the five occupants of the car were severely injured and are believed to have succumbed on the spot
The accident took place on Tuesday morning near Patna village, around 80 km from the Sidhi district headquarters, when the bus heading from Sidhi to Satna fell into the canal.
Soon after the accident, villagers reached the spot and rescued the passengers trapped in the bus. The injured were admitted to Community Health Centre Lakhanpur and later 4 persons have been referred to Ambikapur Medical College
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, extending support to the bandh call, had appealed to all sections of society to observe the bandh to express solidarity with the agitating farmers in New Delhi.
