Ganesh idol immersion processions concluded peacefully across Karimnagar, Nizamabad and several northern Telangana districts amid light rain. Police deployed extensive security arrangements, including CCTV surveillance, drones, divers and control rooms, as thousands of idols were immersed without major incidents.
TGSRTC has launched a pilot CCTV surveillance system in 175 buses in the Adilabad region under its ‘Bussullo Bharosa’ initiative. The system aims to enhance passenger safety, monitor driver behaviour and assist police investigations through real-time surveillance and recorded footage.

A 21-year-old man was arrested by Jagadgirigutta Police along with Special Operations Team and Central Crime Station officials for allegedly murdering his acquaintance in Venkateshwara Nagar. Police said Reddy strangled her, stole jewellery and cash, and staged the death as an accident to cover his tracks.
Fourteen polling stations were classified as Maoist-affected ones, which would be under the protection of Central armed forces. The voting at these stations would be webcast, besides being under CCTV surveillance.
