A six-member Central team began its three-day visit to Telangana on Wednesday to visit the flood-affected districts and assess the damage caused in the State due to the recent heavy rains and floods.
The team comprising Deputy Secretary Niveditha Prasad and RURBAN Consultant Bihu Mahapatra have visited Nizampet, Jukal, Hanumantharaopet, Ryakal, Narayankhed and Gangapur villages.

He further informed the visiting team that paddy in 41,708 acres, cotton in 37,443 acres, redgram in 2,425 and vegetable crops in 2,375 acres were damaged due to continuous rains.
The five-member Central team led by Joint Secretary for Union Ministry of Home Affairs Praveen Vasishta, will submit its report to the Centre after completing the loss estimations
