Former Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy alleged that the arrest of BRS leaders exposed the Congress government's claims and accused it of misusing the police to suppress the Opposition. He also criticised the Congress and BJP over alleged scams and unfulfilled electoral promises.
Political tensions escalated in Hyderabad as several BRS leaders, including T Harish Rao and RS Praveen Kumar, were arrested while heading to Gun Park for a proposed debate with Congress Ministers over Telangana's debt burden and alleged irregularities in Gurukul tenders.
Congress Ministers assembled at Gun Park instead of the Press Club after accepting the BRS challenge for a debate on welfare tender irregularities. They accused BRS leaders of staying away and challenged BRS Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao to participate.

Ahead of the Assembly session, BRS staged a protest highlighting Telangana’s urea shortage, urging the Congress government to resign. KT Rama Rao criticized the administration’s failures, called for extended Assembly debates on agriculture, irrigation, student issues, and farmers’ hardships.
The rally was taken out from Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park to the Amara Jyothi memorial near Tank Bund, paying homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the formation of Telangana.
As part of the State Formation Day celebrations, the Chief Minister will unfurl the national flag at Parade Grounds at 10 am and receive the guard of honour of the police forces, besides releasing the State song on the occasion.
Revanth Reddy was taken into preventive custody near Gun Park here after he reached there along with party cadres without obtaining prior permission from authorities.
