The BRS has approached the State Election Commission alleging illegal dual ex-officio registration of Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya in Thorrur municipality. The issue has intensified political tensions ahead of the chairperson and vice-chairperson elections.

Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya on Tuesday highlighted agricultural schemes during her starred question in Lok Sabha, with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan responding. She stressed her role in voicing farmers’ concerns and noted that the Centre fixes Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 22 crops annually.

Aruna had contested from Mahabubnagar in 2019 too, but lost to Congress candidate M Srinivas Reddy.

Srihari and Kavya joined the Congress from the BRS on Sunday.

She wrote a letter to the party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao to this effect and thanked him for giving her the opportunity to contest the elections.

The decision was reached following a meeting between BRS chief Chandrashekhar Rao and BSP Telangana president RS Praveen Kumar recently.
