Health Minister Harish Rao says 960 doctors will be recruited in the State within one week.

Health officials are gearing up to organise the second phase of the ‘Kanti Velugu’ programme from December 18 in the district

The minister stated that 1,500 additional teams were being formed for the smooth conduct of the programme.

Telangana first State in the country to conduct this unique initiative.

Priority will be to be given to PMOOs who have functional AR machines and monthly rental amount for such medical equipment will be released by the DM&HOs.

The unique eye care initiative that aims to conduct mass screening programs and distribute quality eyeglasses for free of cost to poor patients will be held over a period of 100-days with a cost of nearly Rs. 200 crore.

The Health Minister said the health department in the Siddipet district had identified 3,250 people who were suffering from different eye issues.
