Warangal: State government will conduct Palle Pragathi, Pattana Pragathi and Haritha Haram jointly across the State from July 1 to 10. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will hold a preparatory meeting with Ministers, district collectors, additional collectors and district officials of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments in Hyderabad on June 26 in this regard.

“From the Chief Minister to the sarpanches and the Chief Secretary to village-level government staff, all of us should participate in this special drive to make all three programmes a success. We will release funds for July month in advance to the local bodies to make necessary arrangements for these programmes,” the Chief Minister announced in Warangal after inaugurating the Integrated District Collectorate Complex here on Monday.

The Chief Minister made it clear that the State government and the elected representatives have no other major work but develop the towns and villages in the State. He stated that though the Urban Local Bodies were falling behind in implementing Pattana Pragathi, villages are making good progress in Palle Pragathi. He wanted all the villages to be fully equipped with tractors, nurseries, Palle Prakruthi Vanams, Vaikuntadhamams, and other basic infrastructure. He emphasised the need to bring more reforms in municipal administration system and ensure more transparency.

Chandrashekhar Rao announced that the State government found a permanent solution to land disputes by launching the Dharani portal and will soon launch total land survey programme to fix the boundaries of these lands using geographic coordinates. He wanted the elected representatives to cooperate and coordinate with the officials in resolving petty issues before finalising the boundaries.

The Chief Minister recalled that Kanti Velugu programme received good response earlier where more than 50 lakh people received spectacles. He said the government would soon resume performing the eye operations to the needy that were planned earlier during the Kanti Velugu programme. He also assured to launch a pilot programme in Nagarjuna sagar constituency shortly for resolving the issue of Podu lands. If succeeded, the programme will be launched in other districts.

Devadula project to cater to erstwhile Warangal

The Devadula lift irrigation scheme will now cater to the needs of erstwhile Warangal district exclusively, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said on Monday. The Sammakka barrage under Devadula lift irrigation scheme has been completed. With both Indravathi and Pranahitha rivers receiving good inflows, the barrage can store 7.5 tmc water throughout the year and can cater to the needs of erstwhile Warangal district. He declared that the government was ready to spend Rs 100 crore, but wanted the works to be executed within the next 45 days and ensure that no village is left without water.
