Before heading to AICC General secretary KC Venugopal's residence, the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues held a meeting with AICC Telangana incharge Deepadas Munshi.

AICC general secretary KC Venugopal during a conference meeting from New Delhi with the State leaders on May 7 had pointed out that there was no coordination between MLAs and incharge Ministers in a few constituencies, which could prove counter-productive.

“I have been to both the constituencies and the response is hugely positive. The Congress party will win from both the seats,” said Venugopal.

The AICC general secretary held a video conference from New Delhi with Congress leaders in the State on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Rajender Rao, who is confident of getting the ticket, decided to file his nomination on behalf of the Congress party on Monday.

AICC Telangana incharge Deepa Dasmunsi, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Cabinet Ministers and a few senior leaders from the State participated in the meeting.

Party sources said Rajasthan was on "top" in terms of choices for Sonia Gandhi even as some other state units made offers for her to file the nomination.

The filing of the FIR follows the statement by the Assam Chief Minister on Tuesday, indicating that the state police would initiate legal action against Rahul Gandhi and proceed with his arrest post the Lok Sabha election.

Revanth Reddy, who has been elected from the Kodangal Assembly seat, is slated to take oath as chief minister in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that the Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled to be held on November 30.
