The State government’s plans to fill up its coffers through the LRS failed to yield desired results with not many coming forward to avail of the offer before the last date of March 31
"Congress, which once condemned the LRS, has now turned it into a tool to extort Rs 15,000 crores from people under the guise of a special drive. During the elections, they promised free LRS, but now, they are bleeding the public dry," Harish Rao remarked.
He criticised the State government for its failure to address critical issues like delayed crop loan waiver and Rythu Bharosa support to farmers, and rising healthcare costs due to widespread fevers, and other challenges.
The Minister, tearing into into the BJP manifesto, said except for three or four topics, the manifesto contained no issues within the powers of the GHMC.
The special session was called for following the Cabinet approval for amendments to the GHMC Act 1995, the Non Agricultural Land Assessment (NALA) Act, and the Registrations Act among others.
