Gandhi will lead a march in Aizawl and engage with the people during his visit, stated Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee treasurer Lalmalsawma Nghaka.
In a letter addressed to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Congress president Lalsawta said that Sunday is a sacred day for the people of Mizoram, when no official programmes are held.
Elections will be held in Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana on various dates starting from November 7. The results will be announced on December 3, as per the Election Commission's announcement.
According to reports, the ECI is set to announce the schedule during a press conference to be held at 12 noon at Akashwani in New Delhi. The announcement, if not postponed, will see the five States including Telangana going to polls most probably in early December.
