NASA has delayed the first crewed moon landing to September 2026 due to development challenges faced by NASA and industry partners, including SpaceX and Lockheed Martin.
Just a few hours ago, the Chandrayaan-3's lander 'Vikram' successfully detached from the spacecraft. The lander and rover, Pragyaan, are now expected to land on the Moon on August 23.
To meet the requirement for the certification on the flight termination system, currently set at 25 days, NASA will need to roll the rocket and spacecraft back to the vehicle assembly building (VAB) before the next launch attempt to reset the system's batteries.
