Tension gripped Medak town after police arrested senior BRS leader and former municipal chairman Mallikarjun Goud on charges of attempted murder of Congress MLA Mynampally Rohit. The arrest triggered protests by BRS workers, with party leaders claiming false cases were filed under the influence of the MLA.
Congress MLA Mynampally Rohit confronted Medak DSP Prasanna Kumar and other police officials after suspected fake voters were escorted outside a polling station on Wednesday. Rohit questioned the police action during his visit to review polling.
Tension erupted in Medak municipality after BRS cadres alleged that Congress leaders attempted to distribute money and liquor to voters. A confrontation between workers of both parties led to a scuffle, following which BRS decided to approach election authorities.
Despite advance warnings of heavy rain, the Medak administration was caught off guard as relentless showers and floods hit the district during Vinayaka Chavithi. Villages in Havelighanpur mandal faced severe flooding, key infrastructure suffered breaches, and public representatives remained absent amid the crisis.
BRS leaders alleged that MLC Shambhipur Raju received death threats from MLA Mynampally Rohit and his father Hanumantha Rao. They met the Cyberabad Police Commissioner and demanded action. The leaders also criticised the Congress for rising lawlessness in Telangana

The violation of norms came in the invitation sent out for the Independence Day programme at Medak, in which Chandrashekhar Rao's name was added only after those of MLCs and MLAs.
