The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified a reward poster campaign in Karnataka and Kerala in connection with the murder case of Praveen Kumar Nettare, a BJP Yuva Morcha leader, sources said on Friday.

The NIA had recently furnished a report before a Kerala court, claiming that the leaders of the banned PFI were in touch with Al Qaeda through different modes.

“The case has national security ramifications and pan-India probe is required. The NIA is already working with us and soon the case would be taken up by the agency fully,” said Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, CV Anand.

The anti-terror agency took over the case this week soon after the Counter Terrorism and Counter Radicalization (CTCR) division of the Ministry of Home Affairs handed over the investigation to it considering a terror plot behind the act.

The investigators probing the Mangaluru cooker blast case have turned their focus towards detecting the Kerala connections with the suspected terrorist Mohammad Shariq, sources said on Thursday.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), on Saturday, conducted raids on Popular Front of India (PFI) leaders' residences in Mysuru, Hubballi and Dakshina Kannada districts in connection with the killing of BJP activist Praveen Kumar Nettare.

Earlier on October 14, the NIA had conducted searches at multiple locations including the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a drone delivery case.

KUC police arrested one, seized a dummy pistol and other items from him.

Altaf Ahmad Shah, senior separatist leader and son-in-law of late Syed Ali Geelani, passed away on Tuesday in Delhi's AIIMS.

Earlier, local police arrested Vijay Kumar Arya and Umesh Chaudhary, who were found in possession of Maoist Pamphlets, Levy Receipts and electronic devices containing incriminating data.

According to information received, around 100 PFI activists, including its top national leaders, from about 50 places in the state have been detained.

A NIA team arrived at the PFI office in the early hours and searched the office. The team reportedly seized some electronic gadgets and flags from the office. They later sealed the office.
