Raise serious questions about state of governance in Telangana, charge Congress government with undermining democracy and targeting BRS leaders through questionable actions
The Telangana High Court on Monday extended the interim bail granted to suspended Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) N Bhujanga Rao, the third accused in the ongoing phone tapping case, until November 28.
The court issued the order on Monday, allowing Bhujanga Rao a 15-day bail period to undergo medical treatment for a heart condition which he claimed to have been suffering from quite a long time.
The BRS leaders find the release of such crucial information as highly suspicious and indicative of strategic timing meant to overshadow the Congress government’s ongoing issues.
The BRS working president said phone tapping is part of many surveillance methods adopted by the police to avert threats from terrorists and extremists.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Kishan Reddy said phone tapping was a serious issue as it involved not only politicians, bureaucrats and police officers, but also individuals.
The Punjagutta police have submitted a petition to the court, requesting custody of two Additional SP rank officers who were apprehended on Saturday in connection with the phone tapping investigation.
The officials Thirupathanna, Additional DCP, CSW, Hyderabad police who formerly worked as Additional SP, SIB and N Bhujanga Rao, Additional SP, Bhoopalapally, formerly Additional SP, Intelligence Department were arrested late on Saturday night.
Pranith Rao was arrested earlier this month following a complaint by an official of SIB that he had illegally tapped phones of several persons and on December 4, erased data from the computers systems at Special Operations Target room in SIB office.
