A shocking case of mass dog killings has emerged from Kishtapur village in Jannaram mandal, Mancherial district, where around 100 dogs, both strays and pets, were allegedly poisoned and buried. Police have registered a case against the village Sarpanch Naresh and the panchayat secretary.
Mancherial district witnessed a 19 percent rise in crimes in 2025 compared to the previous year, with 5,289 offences registered against 4,457 in 2024. Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jha reported increases in kidnappings, grievous injuries, missing cases and thefts, though some offences declined.
The Ramagundam police commissionerate reported a slight increase in overall crime in 2025, with more cases of missing persons and kidnapping. Police also detected a major SBI gold loan fraud, while noting a decline in major crimes due to preventive policing
Two police constables were attached to the Ramagundam police commissionerate for allegedly collecting mamools in view of the Dasara festival in Bellampalli.
