Mancherial records 19 percent rise in crimes in 2025
Mancherial district witnessed a 19 percent rise in crimes in 2025 compared to the previous year, with 5,289 offences registered against 4,457 in 2024. Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jha reported increases in kidnappings, grievous injuries, missing cases and thefts, though some offences declined.

Mancherial: The district saw a rise in crimes during the year 2025 by nearly 20 percent compared to 2024.
Briefing annual crime data to the media, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jha said that Mancherial district registered 5,289 crimes in 2025 as against 4,457 offences reported in the previous year, reflecting an increase of 19 percent.
Kidnappings, grievous hurts, missing cases and ordinary thefts went up substantially, while many other offences declined this year, he remarked.
Jha stated that despite a spike in certain offences, detection of crimes and response was further strengthened through continuous surveillance, increased police visibility and community engagement activities.
The community was involved in improving policing like never before. Consequently, public safety improved and public trust upon the police increased.
The commissioner further said that the district significantly saw a spurt in recovery percentage of property in 2025. It recorded 60 percent recovery this year compared to the corresponding period last year. Property worth Rs 1.83 crore was lost. Property worth Rs 92 lakh was recovered. He cited complete recovery of 20.154 kgs of gold and cash Rs 12.61 in a major financial fraud reported in Chennur SBI.
