BRS has called for a protest across Telangana on Thursday to demand that the state government completely waive off Rs 2 lakh crop loans of all farmers without any restrictions.

BRS MLA Mutha Gopal and other senior leaders filed the complaint against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for using abusive, defamatory, and unparliamentary language against former chief minister and BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday.

They alleged that a large number of farmers were excluded from the list of crop loan waiver beneficiaries list. They warned that if the government failed to provide crop loans waivers to all the farmers, they would intensify the agitation

During the inspection, the Chief Minister discussed a few aspects, including the site for installing the statue, required area and designs, besides plans with the officials

Farmers staged dharna blocking roads and raised slogans against the State government for not extending the waiver to them. They said that they were forced to roam around banks to get the scheme. Due to the protest, traffic came to a standstill for a while.

Many school children had turned up for the programme. They were made to stand wearing shirts with photos of the former Prime Minister. The Chief Minister, unmindful of the school children’s presence in the audience, abused the BRS and its leaders

Around 500 farmers from several villages gathered and took out a massive funeral procession with an effigy of the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at Talamadugu mandal centre.
