Srirampur Area General Manager B Sanjeeva Reddy formally inaugurated two Side Discharge Loaders (SDL) at RK5 and RK6 underground mines in Srirampur on Monday.

The decision has been taken in the wake of attempts by land grabbers to encroach upon the company lands.

The party workers staged a protest here on Friday objecting to the auctioning of Sravanapalli coal block in Mancherial district.

The matter would be discussed with the SCCL management seeking to arrange the required land for the construction of an IT Hub, said Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Balram met Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena on Monday and sought his cooperation in starting the Naini mines and setting up of a thermal plant.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Sanjay Kumar informed that during his visit to Ramagundam, Modi made it clear that there was no question of privatization of Singareni. 

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said Kishan Reddy would be launching the 10th round of commercial coal mines auction in Hyderabad on June 21.

Gokaraju Vijaya Rama Raju, a resident of Hi-Tech City Colony in the town, retired from services in 2013 after working in the civil department and an underground mine for 30 years.

SCCL CMD N Balram said the surveillance units had received complaints that some people working in mines and offices were being shown present even though they were absent.

The award was given to Singareni in the enterprise application category.

This change is effective from March 9, 2018, the date of commencement of the scheme for the provision of compassionate employment. Around 300 dependents would be benefited due to the increase in the age limit.

SCCL CMD N Balram said that the company has distributed as many as 2.25 crore plants free of cost to the villagers across the Singareni areas and thus was able to reduce the annual carbon emissions of 2.14 million tonnes.

Keeping in mind the electricity needs of the State, the Singareni company was making efforts to start operations in some new coal blocks, he said. Apart from thermal power generation the company was giving priority to solar power generation, he added.

Meanwhile, Singareni has sought permission from the Telangana government to set up a 500 MW solar plant at a solar park in Rajasthan at a cost of Rs. 2233.68 crore.

While the capacity of Ramagundam plant will be enhanced to 60,000 tonnes from 30,000, Manuguru plant's capacity will also be increased to 40,000 tonnes from 20,000 tonnes.

Informing that OCP-II has been linked to Adriyala project, he hoped that the face of ALP would be changed after one year since they have fixed a target to extract 10,000 tons of coal per day as against 5,000 to 6,000 tons. 7,000 tons production was enough to reach the breakeven point, he informed.

The 22 MW plant is being established at a cost of Rs 126 crore. Rs 5 crore are being spent to generate 1MW of solar power.
