The Power ministry had sent letters to all States asking them to import coal, citing shortage, but real intention behind it was to benefit a business tycoon, he said.
The plants include a 22.5 MW plant in Kothagudem area, another 10.5 MW plant in the same area, an 11 MW plant at Chennur, and a 22 MW plant on open cast-1 overburden dump in Ramagundam-3 area
Sridhar said the Singareni company had achieved a turnover of Rs 26,000 crore last fiscal year and the current fiscal year it was moving towards achieving a turnover of Rs 34,000 crore
