The Department of School Education, in collaboration with the Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, will organise the Southern India Science Fair (SISF)–2026 at The Gaudium School, Kollur, RC Puram, from January 19 to 23.

Former Minister T Harish Rao has urged the government to expedite recruitment of district educational officers, pointing out that only three districts currently have regular DEOs. Speaking at a science fair in Siddipet, he praised students for presenting 1,853 projects, many on par with BTech innovations.

The innovations will target areas such as transportation, waste management, health, food and sanitation, organic agriculture, disaster management, mathematical experiments, and natural resource management. DEO S. Venkateshwarlu, district science officer Sidda Reddy, and others supervised the arrangements.

Additional Collector (Local Bodies) B Rahul opined that the discoveries of science play a vital role in the advancement of society.

Around 500 students from various schools showcased their creativity and exhibited their science models at the fair that was inaugurated by chairman Marri Laxman Reddy

Five science models created by students of the district were selected for a national science fair to be organised soon.

She wanted the pupils to make new inventions useful to society in the future.

Indrakaran said the government was aiming to strengthen the education sector by implementing the MOMB initiative
