"If you vote for the Congress party for freebies, all our temples, homes, and mutts will be handed over to Muslims," Tejasvi Surya stated at a press briefing at the BJP headquarters in Bengaluru. He added, "If Congress is elected again, there won’t be any future freebies, and Hindu pilgrimage centers like Dharmasthala and Sringeri may cease to exist."

With the BJP calling for a march into the campus, the Hyderabad City Police had deployed additional forces at the NCC gate of the campus, apart from barricading the entrance and putting up barbed wires to ensure law and order. But no one was stopped from entering the campus, police said.
