Hyderabad: MA&UD Minister, KT Rama Rao described Transferable Development Rights (TDR) as a success story of the innovations introduced in MA&UD dept in 2017 and one which turned out to be a win-win deal for property owners and urban local bodies.
In tweets on Sunday, Rao said that GHMC alone had saved Rs 3,095 crore in SRDP, road and nala widening by issuing TDRs. “We have also introduced a TDR bank which enables 100 per cent online issuance and utilisation of TDR certificates between agencies such as GHMC, HMDA and TSIIC inside of ORR,” he tweeted.

He said that Niti Aayog under the Ministry of Planning, Government of India also recognised the online TDR bank application as one of the best practice in the country for the acquisition of lands for developmental works and have suggested that other States in the country adopt similar best practices.
