Telangana ACB books 122 corruption cases in 6 months
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau filed 122 cases in just six months of 2025, surpassing last year’s total. Major trap cases include officials from GHMC and the Irrigation Department. The ACB urges citizens to report corruption and assures confidentiality

Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has intensified its crackdown on corrupt public officials, filing a total of 122 trap and enquiry cases in the last six months.
These include trap cases, disproportionate assets cases, criminal misconduct, regular enquiries, and surprise checks.
This figure has already surpassed the total number of cases booked in the entire previous year i.e., 129 in 2024. With 122 cases already filed in just the first half of 2025, the bureau is on track to record its highest-ever annual total.
In the last six months, the bureau has recovered several lakhs of rupees in trap cases and unearthed disproportionate assets worth crores.
In one major case, ACB officials caught Irrigation Department Executive Engineer N. Sridhar for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
In another case, Assistant Town Planner Vittal Rao of GHMC (North Zone) was caught demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8 lakh.
The ACB has urged the public to report any instances of corruption by government officials, assuring that complainants will remain anonymous.
