Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy asks officials to visit two government schools every week
Instructs officials to improve government school infrastructure, ensure inclusivity for students with special needs, and replace traditional kitchens with solar ones. He also urges action to enroll SSC pass-outs into intermediate education to reduce dropout rates
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday directed officials to step up efforts to strengthen government schools in Telangana. He asked additional District Collectors to visit at least two schools every week to improve conditions.
During a review on school education at the Integrated Command and Control Centre here on Wednesday, the Chief Minister directed the officials to take up the construction of additional classrooms and infrastructure in government schools, and accommodate around 48,000 students shifting from private to government schools during the current academic year.
He wanted them to create better facilities for children with special needs, to make government schools more inclusive.
The officials were instructed to replace conventional LPG gas and wood-fired kitchens with solar-powered kitchens to improve conditions for workers preparing mid-day meals.
On increasing dropouts after Class X, Revanth Reddy asked officials to ensure that students who passed SSC are enrolled in intermediate education.
