Telangana Congress suspends Ravi Srinivas for six years over anti-party activities
Congress suspended Sirpur (T) in-charge Ravi Srinivas for six years for anti-party activities, including criticism of former Minister D Seethakka and working against the party’s MLC candidate. The action followed a disciplinary committee meeting led by Mallu Ravi
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The Congress has suspended Sirpur (T) Assembly segment in-charge Ravi Srinivas for six years on charges of indulging in anti-party activities. The decision was taken during a disciplinary committee meeting chaired by Mallu Ravi in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Srinivas was accused of publicly criticising former Adilabad district in-charge Minister D Seethakka during a press conference and of working against the party’s official candidate in the recent MLC elections. He had also reportedly launched repeated attacks on the District Congress Committee (DCC) leadership, drawing the ire of senior party leaders.
The party had earlier issued a show-cause notice to Srinivas in March for his conduct, which was deemed to be in violation of party discipline and unity.
