Women Congress leaders in Karimnagar staged a dharna at the District Congress Committee office on Sunday, opposing the appointment of Rajitha Reddy as the party’s women town president. The protesters accused the leadership of ignoring senior loyalists in favour of a newcomer with a history of switching parties.

According to the police, a case was registered against Vishwaprasad and others for assaulting Naik and his followers during a party meeting held in Asifabad town in November.
