Telangana DGP inspects lockdown implementation in Hyderabad
Speaking to the media, DGP M.Mahender Reddy requested citizens not to come out of their homes unless they had genuine reasons and added that all the seized vehicles will be returned only after the lockdown.

Hyderabad: Director General of Police M.Mahender Reddy on Monday made a surprise visit to police checkposts and inspected the enforcement of the lockdown.
He interacted with Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, Traffic Police officials and other senior officials on the creation of zone wise holding areas for checking of violators in long stretches.

Speaking to the media later, the DGP reiterated that the lockdown would be implemented strictly. All lockdown enforcement actions of the police were intended only to break the chain of the virus spread and to safeguard the public from the pandemic. The police were permitting the movement of staff of essential services, emergency services, doctors and other paramedical staff on producing valid identity proofs.
“Food delivery services are allowed as well,” he said.
The DGP also requested citizens not to come out of their homes unless they had genuine reasons and warned that persons who wander on roads without proper reason would face serious actions and their vehicles seized.
“All the seized vehicles will be returned only after the lockdown,” he said.
Bhagwat later participated in vehicle checking at Shivaji Chowk, Balapur with police officials from Balapur. Urging citizens to cooperate with police, Bhagwat also instructed police personnel to be polite in behaviour but firm in action.
