Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said that the government was striving for the growth of all sections of the society. He gave away cheques of Kalyana Laxmi or Shadi Mubarak to beneficiaries here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Indrakaran said that the State government was implementing the scheme to support the economically weak parents in performing the wedding of their daughters. The scheme became a boon to the financially poor parents, who were earlier struggling to solemnize marriage of their daughters and were forced to borrow money at exorbitant rates of interest.
In the meantime, the minister assured to extend all support to promote sports in the district. He was speaking at an eight-day state-level long softball championship concluded at NTR Mini Stadium in Nirmal town on Tuesday. The event was hosted by Nirmal district Softball Association.
Indrakaran congratulated the winners of the competition and wished that they might win gold medals in a national-level event slated to be held in Anantapur district soon. He promised to take steps to grant funds and to provide coaching to the players if the association submitted proposals to the government. He was joined by municipal chairperson G Eshwar and Farmers Cooperative Society Chairman D Rajender.
